Courage

Reward: Courage

Difficulty: Intermediate

Estimated Time: 1 hour 15 minutes

This reward is for completing the follow-on mission in the Denali Base Camp Charter mission. After making the supply drop-off you need to accept the request to pick up an injured hiker at the medical camp. At this point, you should be at about 8,000 feet. Climbing to 14,500 feet takes about 15 minutes of racetrack courses around the glacier. If you're having trouble climbing, don't forget to lean the gas mixture (pull the engine mixture control towards you until your EGT gauge peaks, then push it in just a touch) or enable the engine auto-mixture (in the aircraft realism settings panel).

When you finally reach the altitude of the camp, you'll need to lower the skis and line up for your approach. Remember - land uphill, and try to stop before reaching the tents, preventing you from speeding past them. Taxi up and come to a stop near the camp, then taxi downhill and takeoff. I recommend staying around 14,000 feet so you don't have to dodge peaks on your way back to Talkeetna. After clearing the mountains, descend toward the airport and line up with the runway. You'll earn the reward as soon as you land, and you can taxi up next to the King Air if you want.
