Reward: Idaho CAP Search
Difficulty: Advanced
Estimated Time: 45 minutes
This reward is for completing the Civil Air Patrol Search mission. After taking off, you'll need to climb to about 7000 feet as you approach your first waypoint in order to clear all the ridges ahead of you. You can equip the autopilot if you wish, just remember to continually keep an eye on the mountains. It's also a good idea to turn on the pitot heat to keep the ice from building on the wings. Once you reach the abandoned mine, your copilot will instruct you to turn west. The best way to stay on course as you fly the search pattern is to follow the mission compass.
After a few legs of the pattern back and forth, you'll receive information about where the pilot was headed. You'll now retrace his flight through the valley to a place called Dixie. At this point, you can descend to 5000 feet. After a few minutes you should come across a plateau that looks like this:
As you get close, you should see some flares and maybe a campfire. Fly over it, then decide whether or not you want to land. For this reward you can choose to fly back to Krassel, but if you want the CAP Lifesaving Medal or the Letter from the Governor you're going to have to land.
